Communion

                  Meditations

 WE SEE THE CROSS

  • As the central theme of salvation

  • But the cross in of itself

  • Gives us nothing to hold onto Jesus

FOR THE CROSS TO HELP US “HERE”

  • We must understand

  • What happened upon that cross

SALVATION MEANS MUCH MORE

  • Than just dying and going to heaven

  • It means, “safety”  “rescued”

  • “delivered”  and  “healed”

SINCE WE WON’T NEED THOSE THINGS IN HEAVEN

  • It is clear that they were given

  • To help us as we live

  • The life of a Christian on earth

AND FOR THOSE THINGS TO HELP US NOW

  • We must constantly be reminded

  • What was given us

  • So that we do not forget

AND THAT IS THE REASON

  • We observe the Communion

  • To keep Jesus and His ministry to us

  • In the forefront of our minds

IN THE EARLY CHURCH

  • It wasn’t the preaching

  • That was the central theme of worship -

  • It was the sharing of Communion

THEY WENT HOUSE TO HOUSE

  • Celebrating the body that was broken

  • And the blood that was given

  • Just so they would remember Him

THEY WORSHIPED THE SACRIFICE

  • That enabled us to become one with Him

  • That enabled us to receive His healing

  • That enabled us to receive our salvation

UNLESS WE SEE JESUS

  • Taking all our sins from us –

  • Taking all our sickness from us –

UNLESS WE SEE JESUS

  • Giving us His all

  • And giving us His power

  • The cross becomes diluted to our faith

AS WE TAKE THE BREAD AND DRINK

  • We must understand

  • What took place on that cross …

  • There was an exchange

AND DURING THAT EXCHANGE

  • We became one with Jesus

  • And we became the recipients

  • Of His great and wondrous power

THE POWER TO LITERALLY

  • Defeat the evil one

  • And to live eternally

  • In the power of Jesus Christ

LET US PRAY IN REMEMBRANCE
