Communion

                  Meditations

WHEN I WAS IN SCHOOL

  • Math was my favorite subject

  • I was a whiz at it

BUT AS I GOT OLDER

  • I went from basic math

  • To geometry  (which wasn’t that bad)

  • To Algebra   (which was that bad)

AND FINALLY I WENT INTO CALCULUS

  • I was totally lost -

  • I might as well have been blind-folded

  • And put in a dark room

BUT MATH IS A PART OF OUR LIVES

  • Both physically, or in this world

  • And Spiritually, in our dealing with Jesus

THE BIGGEST MATH PROBLEM WE WILL EVER SEE

  • Takes place when we surrender to Jesus

  • He subtracts all of our sins

  • And adds our eternal life in heaven

STRANGELY ENOUGH

  • This monumental math equation

  • Takes place under a PLUS sign

  • Or, the sign of the cross

IN ADDITION TO THE SUBTRACTION & ADDITION

  • We are even multiplied

  • To have much more than ever before

WE NOW STAND IN HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS

  • Finding ourselves before God’s throne
  • Where we receive the multiplied blessings

  • Of a loving and faithful God

AS WE APPROACH THIS COMMUNION

  • Let us ask God

  • To grow (or multiply) our Christian character

  • And to let the character of Jesus

  • Be reflected in our daily lives

THE APOSTLE PAUL

  • Reminds us to remember Jesus

  • But not to just remember the man

WE ARE TO REMEMBER

  • Who Jesus was in the eternal sense

  • And to remember what He did for us

  • And the love He expressed by doing it

ROMANS 4:7-8

‘Blessed are they whose sins have been forgiven by Jesus’ blood;

Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him.’
