A SMALL BOY CAME HOME FROM A CIRCUS

• He told his father three things –

HE SAID THEY HAD SEEN THE CIRCUS

• Or, he had participated in it

HE SAID HE HAD REALLY ENJOYED IT

• Or, he had proclaimed it

HE SAID HE LOOKED FORWARD

• At the prospect

• Of seeing it again next year

WE FIND THOSE SAME THREE MESSAGES

• In the act of Communion –

WE PARTICIPATE IN IT

• When we take the bread and the juice

WE PROCLAIM TO THE WORLD

• The fact our Lord has died for our sins

AND WE LOOK FORWARD

• To the prospect

• of seeing Jesus when He returns

1 CORINTHIANS 11:26 says,

‘For whenever you eat this bread, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes again.’

THE ACT OF COMMUNION

• Is not about a tradition

• It is not about eating and drinking

• It is all about remembering

LET US GO INTO THIS TIME

• Remembering the Lord Jesus

• Is our only Savior

• And He has gone away, temporarily

• But He will be back for us
