THERE ARE TWO ZECHARIAH’S IN THE BIBLE

• One is the husband of Mary’s cousin, Elizabeth
• The other is an Old Testament Prophet
• Of which we know very little about

LET’S TALK ABOUT THE OLD TESTAMENT ZECHARIAH

• 500 years before Jesus arrived
• Zechariah painted a picture
• Of what the coming One would be like

IN THE OLD TESTAMENT

• He said the coming Messiah
• Would arrive in Jerusalem atop a donkey
• And that the Messiah would be pierced

HE ALSO DECLARED

• That this Lord would be King over the whole world
• We don’t see that as of yet
• But that is what we have faith in

AND AS WE PARTAKE OF COMMUNION

• We exercise our faith
• Again in the One who will come again
• But then He will come for us

WE ARE BEING FAITH TO JESUS

• Because He told us to remember
• Until He comes again

SO LET US REMEMBER HIM

• And the magnificent future
• We will have – only through Him

1 CORINTHIANS 11:26

‘Whenever you eat of this bread and drink from this cup, you proclaim His death until He comes again.’
