• We are to take the Lord’s Supper
• And we end up focusing on the emblems
• Rather than on Jesus

TAKES THESE WORDS - - -

• Communion
• Community 
• Common
• Communication

WHAT DO THEY HAVE IN COMMON ?

• They all start with the same 4 letters  ---  COMM
• But they have much more
• Than that in common

EVERY ONE OF THOSE WORDS

• Refer to our relationship to others
• They refer to a sharing with others

And therein lies the reason

• For our Lord’s Supper:
• To commune  (or to share) 
• To share our hearts with Jesus

SEE, EVERYTHING WE DO

• Including going to church
• And taking the Lord’s Supper
• Is centered around Jesus

HE IS THE VERY REASON

• We are to be living
• And in communion
• We are commanded to remember Him

‘On the very night He was given over to His enemies, He took the bread and broke it, giving thanks.  He told them, “Every time you do this, do it in remembrance of Me.”

‘Likewise, after the supper, He took the cup and again gave thanks.  And then He told them, “This cup represents the new covenant found in My blood.  Whenever you drink from it, drink it remembrance of Me.”  

For whenever you eat of My bread and drink from My cup, you proclaim to others why I died and that I am returning.”
