REVELATION 4:3

‘And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian. A rainbow, resembling an  emerald, encircled the throne.’

MOST OF US GREW UP

• Watching “The Wizard of Oz”  on TV

• listening to Judy Garland sing

• “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”

WE LOVE TO SEE RAINBOWS      

• I like how an old preacher described them

HE SAID RAINBOWS WERE ARCHER BOWS

• stretched across the sky

• but no arrows go with it

IN OTHER WORDS

• Rainbows are the signs

• of peace that is offered by God

IN THE NEW TESTAMENT

• God uses another sign

• Of the peace He offers us

• It is in the life of Jesus Christ

EPHESIANS 2:13-14 tell us,

‘But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.  For He himself is our peace ….’

GOD COMMUNICATES TO US

• In various ways

• One way is Communion

• When we are called to remember His Son

Through the bread and drink

• We can receive the peace of Jesus

• As we take in the emblems of His nature

• And allow our hearts

• To be molded into His likeness
