• We must sacrifice ourselves for him

• But where is the sacrifice found in communion?

• It isn’t found merely in the bread or the drink

WE MUST SACRIFICE OUR IDENTITY

• Our pride and our “self”

• Just as Jesus sacrificed the physical for us

• We must sacrifice the spiritual for Him

• Our sacrifice is found in our love for Him 

• And in our remembrance of just who He is

FOR WITHOUT SACRIFICING THESE THINGS

• The cross of Calvary

• Has not done anything

• To bring us into reconciliation with God

ROMANS 5:10

‘… but we also rejoice in God through our Lord, Jesus through whom we have now received reconciliation.’

WE MUST SACRIFICE OUR DESIRE FOR

• And our reliance on  ---  the world

• And we must ask ourselves now

• Are we really ready to do this?
