COMMUNION (the
Last Supper)
EACH
YEAR, THE HIGH PRIEST
-
Would
slaughter a lamb
-
But
first, he would place the guilt of Israel on its horns
-
This
was all symbolically, of course
THIS
WAS TO SHOW THE PEOPLE
BUT
IT ALSO SHOWED
-
That
by bringing our sins into the open
-
We
could have atonement for them
-
By
using a sacrifice in our place
LEVITICUS
17:11 tells
us
AS
THE BLOOD POURED OUT OF THAT LAMB
FOR
SIX HOURS, JESUS SLOWLY BLED TO DEATH
THE
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
AS
WE DRAW NEAR TO JESUS
-
During
the time of remembrance
-
We
acknowledge our need for cleansing
-
And
our need for His forgiveness

CORINTHIANS 11:23-25 reads
‘On
the very night He was betrayed, He took the loaf and broke it and
offered up thanks – then shared it and said, “This is like My
body, which will be broken for you.
Remember me as you eat it.”
“And
after dinner, He took the cup of wine and said, “This is like My
blood, which will be spilt for you.
It represents the new way to worship God – through Me.
So, remember Me as you drink it.”
