SACRIFICE IS SOMETHING

• We really don’t understand

• We tend to look at the word ‘sacrifice’

• And look past its deep meaning

JESUS SACRIFICED EVERYTHING FOR US

• But that concept is hard for us to comprehend

• So I will give a real-life example we can relate to

SEVERAL YEARS AGO IN THE TOUR D’ FRANCE

• Lance Armstrong was riding with 19 other teammates

• He had already won 4 of those races

• And would be the only one in history to win 5

MOST OF HIS TEAMMATES

• Could have easily passed him that day

• But all of them willingly gave it up

• So Lance Armstrong could be the winner

NOBODY KNOWS THEIR NAMES

• Most people aren’t aware of what they did

• But they gave up something very important to them

• So somebody else could have something important to him

JESUS SACRIFICED MUCH MORE FOR US

• Most people are unaware of it

• And many more deny it really happened

• But He gave His very life

• So that we might be able to have life through it

LET US REMEMBER THIS MORNING

• That we have so much

• Because another gave that much
